Government statistics show there are over 150 million pieces of litter such as plastics and glass on Australian beaches. 66% of marine birds are harmed by this litter, some are found with stomachs so full of trash they starve to death. To create awareness, we took Australia’s iconic summer drinks cooler, the stubby holder. We created our own version using a revolutionary method of 3D printing that uses 100% recycled paper, guaranteed to not add to the problem. With limited budget we sent our stubby holders out to key bloggers, YouTubers, journalists and activists. With their help, we spread the word organically, educating beach-goers of the invisible harm they are doing to our wildlife and by-passed a mass-media scared of offending the big polluters.
